Can you confirm if an expansion gap around perimeters to walls is required and if so how large this gap needs to be?

Administrator

The matting can expand and contract slightly due to temperature variation, normally not enough to worry about however a gap of around 10mm around the perimeter of the installation would be a sensible precaution. This can be concealed with skirting.

hi, assuming to have two of these rubber mats interlocked together on the floor, what would happen if someone pulls vertically one of the borders? would the mats remain interlocked? how easy would it be to lift, and does it become harder to lift a border, if more mats are joined together? how does it compare to interlocked pvc tiles?

Administrator

Hello and thank you for your enquiry. These mats will certainly come apart if lifted, as the interlocking system is not a permanent connection. It is harder to lift them if more mats are joined together. Compared to the PVC tiles, more force is required to separate these mats as there is more friction between the parts and they are also heavier. I hope this helps.

Hello - could this rubber matting be used as a bathroom flooring? And if so how would it be fixed to a level concrete floor please? many thanks

Administrator

Hello. This product wouldn't really be suitable for a bathroom, as the joints would need to be siliconed and the fact that the joints are the jigsaw type it would be difficult and look quite messy.
