Attenuation Crates

We supply a range of stormwater crates for the storage and attenuation of peak flow water discharge. Due to increased development, there is less permeable open ground for rain water to drain into. Additionally, there is a greater burden on drainage infrastructure due to an increase in flows to drains from buildings. This has lead to an increase in the frequency and severity of flooding in many regions of the UK. During periods of heavy rainfall, reduced permeability means that the ground is unable to absorb surface water fast enough, and the mains drainage system is unable to handle the increase in volume causing drains to overflow. In order to reduce extreme peak flows during heavy rainfall and thus reduce the risk of localised flooding, we offer the Stormwater Attenuation Crate.

The stormwater crates have a stackable modular design which combine to form a subterranean water infiltration or storage system. The entire structure is enclosed in geotextile membrane, which both filters and gradually releases water over a longer period of time, once the ground is ready to absorb it. The plastic crates have high void to volume ratio to maximise water retention, yet are robust and designed to withstand all types of vehicular traffic. We supply 20 tonne crates for pedestrian traffic and all the way up to 100 tonne crates for HGVs and heavy plant traffic.
